Review Right off, I want to say this is an excellent video. The production values are of the highest quality and there is great value for your money. At first glance, it seems targeted for the brand new parent coach. It talks about "how to coach" kids and characteristics for the various age groups. From there it goes into about 28 exercises on various themes for coaches to use in their practices. The video uses rec-to more experienced players for the demos so you get a good sense of what to expect. It also lays out the set up and objectives of the exercises. And, unlike some of the other videos out there, the viewer can clearly hear the on-field coach who is aided by the narrator to fill in the gaps. All of which is extremely helpful however, for the brand new coach, the video is missing one big element. It skips over the basic skills that need to be taught and how to teach them. It's hard to knock such a great video but I think it suffers from a slight identity problem. If your target audience is the parent coach (as it seems in the beginning) then the skill stuff is very important and makes this incomplete. However, if the idea is to present youth coaches with lots of great exercises and insights into coaching, they could edit out some of the beginning and include even more exercises. Overall, this is a highly recommended video for coaches that are not looking for examples of teaching basic skills. I could see rec coaches, experienced youth coaches, clinicians, and camp directors all benefiting from getting this video.
